There are several mistakes made by genuine youths which if the truth is revealed there will be a better way of handling things.
This article is published to help you differentiate between love and lust.

Without wasting much time, I like us to really know what love is. I'll be using Miriam Webster Dictionary for the case of this post.

What is love?

According to Miram Webster Dictionary, love is
>a feeling of strong or constant affection for a person
>attraction that includes sexual desire
>the strong affection  felt by people who have a romantic relationship
>a person you love in a romantic way.

Looking closely at the information from Miriam Webster Dictionary, you'll discover that love is a strong affection for other people including the opposit sex..

Miriam Webster dictionary defined lust as:
*a strong feeling of sexual desire
*a strong desire for something.

We can see that lust goes with a strong and I call it a strange desire mostly for sexual communion when it comes to dealing with the opposite sex.

How to know when I lust instead of love?

Identifying this could be easy and at the same time difficult because they really look alike but here are some highlighted ways to identify lust:
1. If all you see about guy is how he look when naked, it's Lust.

2. If you always find yourself thinking about sex whenever you see or have an imagination about a guy, that's lust.

3. Sometimes you feel horny, maybe when making a phone call with a guy or any other incidents as the case may be, that's lust.

4. If you're always dressed to impress a guy(in a manner to sexually attract him), that's lust.

Here's an illustration. 'That very first day you saw Josh, you just like the way he look, the way he dress, his steps, his body structure and just wish or image he is yours, you imagine he is closer holding hands with you, or even worse in bed, dear, that's lust.

Sometimes, you wished you can forced him, drug hits meal or do anything possible to get him or you begin a conversation with him in your heart, seeing him complying, sister, you aren't in love but lust. And the danger thing about lust is that it's as sinful as fornication and it has a way of pushing one far away from God.

Is Lust natural?

Ecclesiastes 6:1 (KJV)  There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, and it is common among men.

Lust is natural for a heart that has not received help from God. Lust is triggered whenever you see what you define as beauty or get involved with pornographic materials. But for a serious minded Christian, lust is too bad, harsh, or severe to be accepted or tolerated, not tolerable. Very unacceptable.

Why is Lust a sin?

If this is the question in your mind now, you are on the right track.
See what Jesus said in book of Matthew.

Matthew 5:28 (ISVN)  But I say to you, anyone who stares at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

If lust is arguable, Jesus won't teach about it, but it was mentioned by him therefore, it's evil. Lust never allow youths fulfill God's plan for their lives. You will see that below in detail.

How to prevent lust ?

There are many ways to deal with this silent killer, but we'll consider but few in this article.

1. Pornographic Movies:
This is a very exciting but, I bet you, it is one of the greatest weapon used to bond many youths. It gets you so engaged that your thought have no more space for God and at such, you must avoid it always.

The body is not to be used for sexual immorality, but to serve the Lord; and the Lord provides for the body. 1Corinthians 6:13

2. Friend(s):
Whoso is walking with wise men is wise, And a companion of  fools suffereth evil. Proverbs 13:20 (YLT)

3. Music:
This may offend you but the truth need to be told. Listening to music with Lyrics that appeals the mind sexually can be a wrong choice, in fact, it's a wrong decision. Avoid such
4. Starring at a guy lustfully:
This has become a hobby for young girls. You're killingself if you continue in such. It's disgusting, it's filty and shameful to do such. Promise yourself never to continue in that. You either kill such atitude before it kills you.

*Always remember that God hates it.

Can love and lust walk together?

Genesis 34:2 (KJV)  And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her.

Genesis 34:2 (BBE)  And when Shechem, the son of Hamor the Hivite who was the chief of that land, saw her, he took her by force and had connection with her.

In our dispensation, lust is mistaken for love. How then can we differentiate love from lust since they both have something in common "sexual desires"
Like the case of Ammon in 2 Samuel 13:1-2 (EBR)
And it came to pass, after this, that, Absolom, son of David, having a beautiful sister, whose name, was Tamar, Amnon son of David loved her.
And it so troubled Amnon, that he made himself ill on account of Tamar his sister, for, a virgin, was she, and it was monstrous in Amnons own eyes, to do, anything, unto her.

2 Samuel 13:1-2 (NRSV)
Some time passed. David's son Absalom had a beautiful sister whose name was Tamar; and David's son Amnon fell in love with her.

Amnon was so tormented that he made himself ill because of his sister Tamar, for she was a virgin and it seemed impossible to Amnon to do anything to her.

Shechem has a level of love for Dinah but he notured lust that came with it till it landed him in a mess.
Ammon's case is even clear, he lusted.
Lust and love cannot work together because love pleases God and lust displeases in him.

How can I truly love?

Understanding love will help you love others. Love is of God so ask him daily to help you. For you to truly love, you must understand Christ kind of  love. His love is selfless, not demanding, willing to give not with expectation to receive in cash or in kind. Not being kind to entice. Being of assistance with an open mind.
To truelly love, study  the life of Jesus then behave in a manner to please God.

My decision about Lust.
