WHY MOST MARRIAGES FAIL

Marriage is a ceremony in which two become husband and wife, it is the state of being married ( having a husband and

wife ). Consequently , it is a legal relationship between a husband and wife . Marriage is a delicate institution that should not be mishandled, cause it has the ability to change a whole society and generations to come either negatively or positively.




Many times, human moral decay in the world has defeats the actual meaning of the word " marriage" and its original purpose.




Most people dream of getting married to prince charming, having the Cinderella happily-ever-after kind of marriage but in reality it is not always so, in reality, you see a couple looking so in love , the next thing, you hear they are separated and  'code switch' begin to wonder what could have gone wrong.




LIST OF REASON FOR FAILURE IN MARRIAGES


Marriages can fail for number of reasons at any given time.


1. FAULTY FOUNDATION




This is the main catalyst or failure in marriages. Most marriages are built on lies and pretense. while in courtship , most people lie about certain things concerning themselves and when the truth comes it most of the times destroy a happy home. A marriage built on lies and pretense is bound to crumble when the truth comes to light.


Furthermore, most people go into marriages because they felt they are of age and as such, are mature to go into one. And some go into marriage because of physical attraction, most ladies when asked their ideal man, would say " tall, slim, fair, rich, romantic and God fearing " as perfect as that sounds , that's not all it takes to have unfailing marriage, it takes more than just physical attraction.



2. SELFISHNESS.


Placing one's desire consistently ahead of partner's emotional needs and responding only when it is a matter of convenience, leaving a spouse feeling unloved . some spouse are always thinking of themselves alone, their needs and desires often comes first not minding if they are hurting the other person in the process, selfishness in marriage involves lack of consideration and respect for the other person.



3. INFIDELITY


 This is cited as one if the major causes of marriage failures. If you are married, one of the worst you can do is, cheat on your spouse. If you are the type that is easily tempted or can not be faithful to your spouse, then you should  avoid any situation that may cause you to betray your partner or preferably  remain single until you learn how to control yourself.




4. PRIDE


Pride they say goes before the fall. Many marriages are failing and are eventually destroyed because one or both partners are too proud to admit they have a problem and may ba wrong. Consequently apology becomes none existing. Any marriage struggling with pride is headed for the rocks except there is a change of heart.




5. LISTENING TO THIRD PARTY


 When you begin to listen to what other people have to say about your spouse you are headed for trouble. It is  not every advice you should take, some advice are from the pit of hell. The very  person advising you may just be looking for a way to destroy your home. Be diligent on who you receive marital advice from.
            The most common reason some say , is the cause for marriage failures is that, people prepare for wedding not marriage. People preparing for wedding spends millions on the wedding but fail to plan for marriage. If couples would spend half the effort  they put into preparing for wedding into marriages, the rate of failed marriages will reduce.
     


There is no reason why you can't make your marriage work. Though marriage is not a bed of rose, stay interested in your spouse.
