CAMPUS DRAGON

CAMPUS DRAGON

What you are about to read is a path way that will help you for life if you will use this few minutes not being distracted.

Years back I was opportuned to attend fresher’s night in Federal University Otuoke in Bayelsa state, Nigeria of which was filled with lots of varieties of presentations ranging from songs, dance and other forms of entertainment, but this one caught my attention and that is what I will be bringing you briefly on this post. If you love your life and desire to excel in this journey of life especially on campus then, you have to take heed to this warning. If you have relatives, friends or neighbours in higher institution, you will be doing them good by sharing this post with them.
Campus is a location for which building of higher institution is located and student to live in and to carry out their academic activities.
It is full of many activities, attraction and distraction. It is home away from home and parents influence. It is a good place to find expression for life.
Campus is very essential as it expose students to experiences they may never have while at home. It gives opportunity to experience life without the presence of parent and it teaches individuals to take responsibilities for their actions. Campuses have moulded life of many who went through it either positively or negatively.
Campus is full with educational and social activities and each of these activities is necessary but never made compulsory. They are still left optional to every individual. To succeed in higher institution is an option likewise to fail. It all starts from day one on campus. The choice of places you visit, kinds of people you relate with, how you present yourself matters a lot.
Many brilliant youths, full with promising future failed on campus not because of anything but this issue which I will be bringing to you now and so I plead with you, take heed!
Back to the fresher’s night at the university. A group was introduced to present a play which was titled Campus Dragon.
The play portrays how youth who came in with vision eventually went astray on arrival. Some were introduce to alcohol, wild parties, pornography and sex all in the vain of celebration.
It is true that university is place to find expression, make findings and gain answers to question, but the result you get from a search is a function of the key word you impute into the search box and so many find wrong answer because of wrong perspective to life.
Still on the play, plan was strategically made by the enemies on how to irrevocably destroy the lives of these young ones, they send beautiful girls to young men and boys of influence (financially and academically) to go and distract the attention of the young girls, to stop them from achieving their goal and God’s desire for their lives. From the play, many young ones were deceived and ended up in shame and disgrace while some lost their lives but a few held back to themselves knowing that they came for a purpose.
In that play the actors try to point to young people that the enemy-the Devil- is out to destroy lives.
But is there really a dragon on campus that made many to become lost?
Is the dragon so powerful that no single individual can survive it?
Are there people who went to higher institutions and survive this dragon?
Well these are questions that should guide your thought into what I will be sharing.
To answer the first question- is there really a dragon on campus that made many to become lost? - I will like to say no, not literally, if not, it would have possibly devoured everyone on campus. The dragon here is the uncontrolled desire to explore.
So many young minds come into higher institution to do what they believe their parent will not have allowed them do under their nose. Some though, were innocently deceived as a result of them not being exposed to certain things while others are of the spirit of Dina who wants to see how things were done on the other side. She never returned the way she went. The damages were irreversible.
In an attempt to answer the second question, I will like to ask you, have you heard or seen anyone who went to higher institution and become fire for God? Many great men we have today, most especially in Nigeria were made by GOD on campus in the likes of David Oyedepo, Bob Weiner, Joshua Selman, Chris Oyakhilome etc. these men put the Lord first in all they did just like Matthew 6:33 and Proverbs 3:5-6. Therefore, the dragon is less powerful that everyone can survive it. Once young people start focusing on what brought them to school, the temptation will be less and hence, easy to overcome. It’s a matter of choice.
·      When you arrive on campus and your preferred spot to be is a hotel, club or bar, you are giving an open invitation to the campus dragon.
·      When you dress to meet up standard of demon girls or boys, are inviting the fierce dragon.
·      When you show of the wealth of your parent that may be cool but watch out for campus dragon

How to identify campus dragon

Here I will be doing a quick list of them so as to easily identify them and stay clear from them.
·      Cultist: These are young ones who are cowards; they are scared of what is unknown to them, so they seek protection thereby pilling enemies for themselves. They dress with codes and greet with codes, their lives are limited within a cycle and they live unsecured life, scared of the sight of police, army, or any security personnel. To these, flee. They promise security when they themselves cannot secure their own life.
·      Lecturers: Well, these may be the last thing you could believe to be mentioned here but I tell you that some lecturers are dragons, they are positioned to wretch many destinies especially that of ladies. And most especially those ladies who think they dress to kill; well they are only committing suicide. Hide yourself, stand   your ground for righteousness and never give in when it is though.
·      Grade: Surprise to see this too. Yes, pursuit for grade can be another dragon as many forget their God all in the name of pursuing good grades. That is a deceit from the Devil. Aim high, study well and serve God in fellowship with the brethren and all things will follow when you seek first His Kingdom.
·      Pleasure: When all you want is to find pleasurable things, you do anything humanly possible irrespective of the effect it has on your faith. This should not be for a serious minded individual
My advice to everyone reading this article is “Avoid the passions of youth, and strife for righteousness, faith, love, and peace, together with those who with a pure heart call out the Lord for help.” Victory lies in your heart. Promises you made to your parent especially to your mum can be kept if you decide to shun the evil passions of youths. Decide for Jesus not to go the ways of a corrupt mind but to fulfill God’s
You are God’s delight and He desires you to stand for Him on campus. Don’t join those who don’t have use for God, don’t join people whose desire is to destroy others people’s life, God frown at such. Find a Bible believing Church or campus fellowship to attend, pray always for God’s grace to remain faithful to Him. Put your heart into serving God, and your life will never remain the same again.

To survive this dragon is easy if you follow this simple guide
1.     Make sure your friends love Jesus because evil company corrupts good manners. They must be people who pursue after righteousness of God.
2.       Don’t get to busy with academic to the point of suffering your fellowship with the Holy Spirit. This will get you cooled feat towards the things of God and will eventually take you away from God.
3.     Get involve in church activities. It connects you with friends and people who can be of help to you. However, it should be done moderately.
4.     Always speak for your faith. Don’t be ashamed of proclaiming the ground on which you stand on. Speak of Jesus to everyone who come your way.
5.     Be teachable.  Must be open to godly counsel from spiritual head and elders.
6.     Don’t be to enslave by technological advancement. They are there to keep jobless people busy and make them never think of improving themselves. Get the needful not the trending.
7.     Work hard and trust God for success because true success comes from God alone.
