Every time I go along the streets, market places, schools and higher institutions, I see many inexperienced youths who thinks life is all about what they can see and how many they can grab but not how many they may have to let go?
In life, you can't always be on the taking side, some times you just have to give out. We keep asking God to give us this or that but we never ask what God want us to give Him?
"God have everything" you may quickly say but there is one more thing he desires that you give him out of your own free will, your heart. You're all God ever needed, you're his heart desire, you're the crown he won for his task, you're the joy that fills his heart, you're the apple of his eyes, you're God's pride but what do you think will become of him if the devil will come to Him and say "this one is for me"
1 Samuel 12:24-25
Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.

What those it mean to give God your heart?
You where born just like everyone else, with your own special skill and will to do whatever you think is right,you have the right to talk, dress the way that suit you, go to popular l places you want, and do things just the way you so wishes. Now, this is call your self-will and all these proceed from your heart and it formulates your decision. What dose it mean to give God your heart? Since your heart controls your activities, then giving that heart to God means giving God the authority to take over your day for you. God will guild, direct, instruct, help, comfort and protect you via his Spirit. Giving Him your heart simply means doing everything in the way that honour God,
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Philippians 4:8 your heart must bent on obeying God's instruction and your life will change for good.

Why should I give God my heart?
Nobody who genuinely give his heart to God gets disappointed. Just like you saw in the paragraph above, God will guild, direct, instruct, help, comfort and protect you via his Spirit. When you give God your heart, he will teach you to love others, pray for them, teach you how to forgive, and help you to love Him the more.
Why you should really give God your heart is that only Him can help your future. Remember, your heart can not be empty, it's either God or the Devil.

What can hinder you from giving God your heart
But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
2 Timothy 2:20-21
As a youth, there a million and one things God can do through you but until you purge yourself of all impurities. If your heart is occupied with all sort of rubbish, there is no way you can give your heart to Christ because, such a heart can't even think about Jesus, and, of course, Jesus will never live in such kind of environment.
Another thing that can hinder you is your friend(s) "Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart." 2 Timothy 2:22 is this scripture against having friends? No! But making friends with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. When you have friends that only update you with the venue of night parties, game house, pornography,such a friend can actually hinder you.
Many of your friends today are less concerned about your walk with God because many of them have lost their way already. But for you, your opportunity is still very much available, so you must keep off such friends to keep up your walk with God.

Many youths Today are gradually going the wrong way thinking that all is well. Just like the young inexperienced youth. Read this brief story "For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,

In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:
And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:
Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)
she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,
I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.
came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.
have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.
I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.
For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:
He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.
With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.
He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;
Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life." Proverbs 7:6-23
Don't be like the inexperienced youth. Be wise, stand up for God even if your friends are not interested, continue. There is a prize for you from Jesus Christ...
